Gulbarga University is a public university located in Kalburagi, Karnataka, India. Its jurisdiction extends to the four districts of Gulbarga District, Bidar District, Raichur District, and Yadgir District of Karnataka. It has more than 37 teaching departments and 4 research centers and also acts as an affiliating university. It started as a post-graduation center of Karnataka University. In 1980 the Government of Karnataka enacted a law and gave it the status of the state university. The University’s main campus is located 10 kilometers (6.2 mi) from the Gulburga city center.
